Candy and Caramel Apples are popular Halloween treats! Here are some tips for making great candy apples:
- For easy dipping, use a small saucepan when cooking one kit. A 2qt. saucepan is recommended.
- For best results and to keep the candy on the apple, it is important that the syrup reach the hard crack stage.
- To reduce bubbling of the candy coating, stir in ⅛ tsp of solid shortening just before you dip the apples.
- If cooking several kits in a single batch, use two-thirds of the normal water and cook with high heat.
- Dip apples within 24 hours of consuming.
